Silent auction with hand-crafted jewelry, artwork, gift certificates to restaurants, hotels, events and other special opportunities! Plus :
  • Jazz vocalist Kathy Kosins will paint live (her paintings will be auctioned!)
  • Jazz guitarist A. Spencer Barefield will be our special DJ playing his favorites
  • Delicious food from Genet Barthwell's Gourmet Cuisine
  • Tour a portion of a spectacular historic home built in 1929 for the Wineman Family. Grandfather Leopold Wineman founded the People's Outfitting Company, which became one of the biggest department stores in the US in the 1920s!; the Detroit location was designed by Albert Kahn, so could this mansion be a Kahn design? We are still researching it! Read more

Senator & Mrs. Palmer's 1880's Log Cabin -- designed by the legendary architects Mason & Rice -- is a rare Detroit historic landmark, thought to be the only existing Log Cabin in the city and one of the most unique in the country. Restoring lights, electricity, chimneys and the interior (woodwork, plaster, staircase, etc.) are our next goals.
Don't miss this opportunity to catch a rare glimpse inside another of Detroit's restored treasures and help People for Palmer Park
return the Log Cabin and Palmer Park to its former beauty!
Tickets, $75, must be purchased in advance:
You may also make a tax-deductible donation to People for Palmer Park

You will be sent a map, address, parking directions and more details the week of the event. For more info visit or contact or call Barbara Barefield, 313-313-891-2514.
